Bottles of Bravery and Potions of Power

We all go through periods when we think we are not brave enough or not strong enough. No brave enough to go for a new job, or start a new course or courageous enough to quit something.

Maybe you would like a magic potion that could make you braver or luckier? 

A Truth...

Alas, there is no such thing. There is no Felix Felicis, no lucky potion. 

And here is a truth- You dont need it.

YOU are already brave enough and strong enough and lucky enough and courageous enough!! You go out and confront the world every day. But sometimes you need a little reminder of your bravery. A token you can wear to remind you of your luck. 

That's why I have created these pins. They are little reminders that you can wear every day. Brews of brave and potions of power. 

Everyday Heros

The inspiration for these pins came from the people I meet every day who are heros. They do brave things and courageous things but sometimes they forget that they are brave and courageous.

Inspiration also came from my favorite books.

Childrens books often use magic potions and medals as ways of proving to the protagonist that they are brave and lucky and strong and courageous despite what they think at the time.

Here are some examples:

The Cowardly Lion from the Wizard Of Oz- 

"Since lions are supposed to be "The Kings of Beasts," the Cowardly Lion believes that his fear makes him inadequate. He does not understand that courage means acting in the face of fear, which he does frequently. Only during the aftereffects of the Wizard's gift, when he is under the influence of an unknown liquid substance that the Wizard orders him to drink (perhaps gin) is he not filled with fear. He argues that the courage from the Wizard is only temporary, although he continues to do brave deeds while openly and embarrassedly fearful." from Wikipedia

Ron and the Felix Felicis potion in Harry Potter series 

 "Felix Felicis, also called "Liquid Luck", is a magical potion that makes the drinker lucky for a period of time, during which everything they attempt will be successful. 

Harry Potter won a small vial of Felix Felicis from Professor Slughorn for brewing the best Draught Of Living Death potion in class. 

Harry later pretended to add a small amount to Ron Weasley's drink at breakfast before a Quidditch game so that Ron would feel more confident about his abilities. Hermione noticed what Harry did and warned Ron not to take a drink but he did anyway going on to play a nearly perfect game. Following the game, Harry told her and Ron that he had not given Ron the potion at all, and that Ron played that well all by himself." summarized from Harry Potter Wiki
